Canadian born and Australian raised, Rafael Zabik moved to New York City at age 21 to pursue a career in photography, leaving behind the great waves of a small beach town along with the family farm.

     “During my high school years I befriended an excellent local Australian B/W portrait photographer who introduced me to a whole new way to think, view the world and express myself.  After I started to apprentice with his studio, I was hooked and knew this was the path for me.”

    Once landed in NYC Rafael developed his career and has worked with the likes of Bergdorf Goodman, Ralph Lauren, Zac Posen, Victoria’s Secret, Levi’s, Atlantic Def Jam Records, Allure, and Cosmopolitan Magazine, to name a few.

   Attempting a more bohemian lifestyle Rafael splits his time between homes in upstate New York and North Carolina, and shoots frequently on location where the sun and local environment invigorate his soul and trigger the creative process.
